The 6th CAFA tournament this year took place in capital city of Tajikistan at the Dushanbe Central Stadium between 5 – 12 August 2022.  115 players from 5 countries representing CAFA member associations took part in total of 10 matches of the championship.

The Championship was distinguished with numerous beautiful goals and moments with decisive last day of the tournament which ended with victory of the Iran U19 national team. In addition, the tournament was a great platform for youth development as a main priority, great showcase of the talent and served as stage to prepare teams for the AFC U20 qualifiers matches which is due to start next month.

On the final match day of the Championship, the youth team of Tajikistan lost to the Iran team with a score of 0:4. While in another match, the national teams of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan played a draw – 1:1.

As results of the tournament, the youth team of Iran reached 8 points and became the winner of the championship of the Central Asian Football Association. Uzbekistan and Tajikistan – achieved the same number of points – 6 each. In according with competition regulation head to head results counted in order to identify the second place team, and consequently the silver medals went to the national team of Uzbekistan.

The closing ceremony, awarding the winners and special award winners of the CAFA-U19 Championship 2022 was attended by Vice-Presidents of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Mr. Dilshod Jurazoda and Mr. Alisher Urunov, General Secretary of the FTF Furkat Akhmedzhanov and General Secretary of the Central Asian Football Association Ulugbek Karimov.
