Uzbekistan inaugural CAFA Women’s Championship winners

Uzbekistan were crowned the CAFA Women’s Championship 2018 champions during the trophy presentation following the final day fixtures at the Milliy Stadium, Tashkent on Saturday.

Robert Gai’s team, were assured of the title on Thursday after winning all four matches to seal top spot.

Islamic Republic of Iran claimed second spot, finishing with nine points after defeating Kyrgyz Republic 5-0 on Saturday, while Tajikistan beat Afghanistan with a similar scoreline to finish third in the standings.

Kyrgyz Republic ended their campaign with three points to finish fourth ahead of winless Afghanistan.

Nilufar Qudratova of Uzbekistan clinched the Top Scorer Award, with compatriot Lyudmila Karachik winning the Most Valuable Player award.

The Fair Play Award went to Tajikistan, while Kyrgyz Republic were awarded the Fans’ Award and Afghanistan the Special Award.
