23 January 2026 I The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA), in cooperation with the Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU), successfully conducted the CAFA Referee Instructors’ Course from 19 to 23 January 2026 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.
Hosted at the KFU Headquarters, the five-day programme brought together 16 national referee instructors from across the Kyrgyz Republic. The course was delivered under the leadership of Vladimir Tseytlin, an experienced AFC Referee Instructor, who guided participants through a comprehensive and structured educational programme.
This initiative reflects CAFA’s continued commitment to strengthening refereeing education across the region by enhancing the knowledge, teaching methodologies, and technical understanding of national referee instructors.
Throughout the course, participants engaged in classroom-based modules and interactive sessions designed to:
• Enhance understanding of key modern refereeing topics
• Improve the quality and consistency of referee education at national level
• Encourage active learning through group discussions, scenario analysis, and Q&A sessions
• Support the implementation of the latest interpretations and match critical incident management
By equipping national instructors with stronger theoretical foundations and shared learning approaches, CAFA and KFU aim to ensure that referee education remains consistent, modern, and aligned with international standards.
The successful delivery of the course marks another important step in CAFA’s ongoing efforts to raise refereeing standards and support the sustainable development of football across Central Asia.
