The Central Asian Football Association successfully conducted its Extraordinary Congress 2025 on 26 December 2025 via video conference, bringing together all six Member Associations and representatives of the Asian Football Confederation.
The Congress was convened in full compliance with the CAFA Statutes, with all Member Associations present and entitled to vote, ensuring the required quorum for decision-making.
Key Outcomes of the Extraordinary Congress
During the Congress, Member Associations unanimously approved several important matters related to CAFA’s governance, financial planning, and institutional development, including:
- Approval of the Minutes of the 10th CAFA Congress held on 12 April 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Approval of the CAFA Budget for 2026, covering:
- AFC Enhance Programme allocations
- FIFA Forward 3.0 Development Programme competitions budget
- CAFA Commercial Funds
- Appointment of an Independent External Auditor for the 2025–2026 term
- Consideration of a proposal submitted by the Football Federation of Turkmenistan, resulting in the approval of the removal of Mr. Arslan Aynazarov from the position of Vice President of CAFA, in accordance with the CAFA Statutes
All agenda items were approved unanimously by the Member Associations, reflecting a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustainable football development across the Central Asian region.
