The first ever championship of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) among women’s national teams has ended with the victory of the national team of Uzbekistan and memorable moments both at the individual and team levels.
Women’s Championship was played on the soil of capital city of Tajikistan Dushanbe at the Central Stadium and it delivered a very competitive match with decisive final round games. In the 10 games played, there were just 33 goals scored.
In the final, decisive round, Uzbekistan National team won the I.R. Iran National Team with a score of 1:0. The author of the only and winning goal was Maftuna Shoimova, who scored in the 86th minute of the meeting.
In another match of the final round, the national team of Kyrgyz Republic achieved a minimal victory over the national team of Tajikistan.
Champions of CAFA Senior Women’s Championship have been able to win all four matches gaining 12 points with 20 total scored goals and no goal received.
Silver medals went to the players of I.R. Iran and bronze medals went to the team of Kyrgyz Republic.
The award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the CAFA championship among was attended by the General Secretary of the Central Asian Football Association Mr. Ulugbek Karimov and the General Secretary of the Football Federation of Tajikistan Mr. Furkat Akhmedjanov.
As a result of the tournament, the “Fair Play” prize was awarded to the I.R. Iran team, a special prize went to the team of Turkmenistan. The captain of the Uzbekistan national team, Nilufar Kudratova was awarded with the prize of the most valuable player of the tournament, and also became the top scorer of the competition with five goals scored.
