The Central Asian Football Association successfully held its 10th Ordinary Congress on 12 April 2025 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, marking a significant milestone that coincides with the Association’s 10th anniversary year.
The Congress was attended by delegates from all six Member Associations — Afghanistan, IR Iran, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan — as well as the CAFA Executive Committee and observers representing the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
The session, provided a platform for reviewing the Association’s activities, financial governance, and strategic outlook. In line with CAFA Statutes, the Congress unanimously approved the following key agenda items:
- The Statement of Accounts and the Independent External Auditor’s Reports for the 2023–2024 financial cycle, confirming CAFA’s adherence to international financial transparency standards;
- The 2024 Activity Report, which showcased significant progress in youth football development, women’s competitions, festivals, referee education, and orther activities
- Approval of the Minutes of the 9th CAFA Congress;
In his remarks, CAFA Senior Vice President Mr. Mohammad Yosuf Kargar emphasized the significance of the Association’s decade-long journey and highlighted the importance of continued collaboration among Member Associations to further elevate the regional football ecosystem.
The decisions taken reaffirm CAFA’s ongoing commitment to good governance, financial integrity, and strategic development of football throughout Central Asia. The Association’s 10th Congress serves as both a reflective and forward-looking assembly, laying the groundwork for the next decade of football excellence in the region.
