Dushanbe, Tajikistan — December 2, 2023: Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) has held its Extraordinary Congress meeting via video-conference, resulting in a series of updates for the organization.

The Extraordinary Congress was held with participation of delegates from all six CAFA Member Associations.

CAFA Senior Vice President Mr. Mohammad Yosuf Kargar outlined the Regional Association’s progress within the past years and expressed his assurance that CAFA will continue to achieve greater heights.

“This year was full of excitement, high quality football and emotions for the CAFA. The year of 2023 has been remarkable for the Central Asian region and for the organisation in particular,” said Mr. Kargar.

“CAFA have been awarded with AFC Regional Association of the Year 2022 and had organized for the first time in its history the football and futsal Competitions among A National Teams and several maiden workshops had been conducted for football and futsal referees, referee assessors. I am pretty confident that referee development initiatives would take CAFA competitions to the higher levels. I am also would like to congratulate Uzbekistan Football Association for being honored with AFC Member Association of the Year Platinum award”

Key outcomes of the CAFA Extraordinary Congress:

• APPROVAL OF THE BUDGET FOR 2024. Member Associations delegates unanimously approved the proposed budget for 2024.
• APPOINTMENT OF EXTERNAL AUDITOR FOR 2023-2024.Unanimously approved.
• VOTE ON PROPOSALS FOR AMENDMENTS AND ALTERATIONS TO THE CAFA STATUTES. Member Associations delegates unanimously approved the amendments and alterations to the Statutes based on the proposals received from the CAFA Executive Committee.
• ELECTION OF THE FEMALE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEMBER. Ms. Yuliya Panina was elected as the CAFA Female Executive Committee member for the term 2023-2027.
