The CAFA U17 Championship 2025 has officially concluded in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with the national U17 team of Tajikistan emerging as the champions after an exciting week of youth football. Held from 24 to 31 May 2025, the tournament brought together six teams from across Central Asia and featured nine matches hosted at Dustlik Stadium.
The championship was filled with memorable moments, featuring 37 goals, penalty shootouts, and VAR decisions that added to the intensity and fairness of the matches. The tournament was not only about winning but also about emotions, learning experiences, and development, as young players experienced both the highs of scoring and the heartbreak of missed chances.
The competition was organized in a group stage followed by final placement matches, including the 5th/6th place game, 3rd/4th place game, and the final. The tournament featured players born on or after 1 January 2009 and served as a key milestone in preparing these young talents for the AFC U17 Asian Cup 2026 Qualifiers in November.
The CAFA U17 Championship 2025 was not only a success on the field but also digitally, with the tournament gathering over 2 million viewers across all CAFA social media channels, showcasing the strong and growing interest in youth football across the region.
The awards ceremony was attended by the Chairperson of the CAFA Referees Committee and First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov, as well as CAFA General Secretary Ulugbek Karimov.
