CAFA contunies to fullfill their strategic misison with regards to developemt of the women’s football in the region. Second tournament this year was hosted by Tajikistan Football Federation with participation of four National teams. The tournament with a format of single round robin and in total of 6 matches, was held during the period between 10 – 17 of March in Hisor Central Stadium. Four participating member associations competed for the trophy of CAFA U17 Women’s Championship and Uzbekistan national team was able to lift the trophy of CAFA U17 Championship 2023 competition without losing a single game. The last match day between Kyrgyz republic and I.R. Iran was decisive to gain the second place in the tournament.

As a result of all matches, girl’s team of Uzbekistan was the most successful to collect maximum points, I.R. Iran with their great performance reach the second on the table and team of Kyrgyz republic gain the bronze medals of the tournament.

Head Coach of Kyrgyz Republic team, Mr. Zagid VALIEV: “Very good tournament, great platform for regular games. Also, the level of the tournament itself is very good, besides, the girls gain a lot of experience, since this is their first international experience”

The closing ceremony awarding the winners of the championship was attended by Vice President of Tajikistan Football Federation Mr. Alisher Urunov, the General Secretary of the Central Asian Football Association Mr. Ulugbek Karimov.

As a result of the tournament, the Fair Play award was awarded to the team of Iran, and the special award went to the team of Tajikistan. The individual award of the best scorer of the tournament was received by player of I.R. Iran team Somayeh Esmaeili and Asalkhon Aminjonova of Uzbekistan was named the most valuable player of the Championship.
