CAFA General Secretary Mr. Ulugbek Karimov was welcomed by Senior Vice President Mr. Ravshan Irmatov and General Secretary Mr. Avaz Maksumov of Uzbekistan Football Association in UFA headquarters on Wednesday, 21 December 2022.

CAFA and UFA underlined the spirit of unity and solidarity within the Central Asian football family and further reinforced the willingness to work closely together to ensure the continued development of the sport across the region.

At the meeting, it was emphasized that the neighborly and cooperative relations between Uzbekistan and the CAFA member states are entering a new stage. It was noted that football is developing in the region, and all member countries are making great efforts in this regard and the intention of UFA management is always eagerly ready to implement large-scale projects with CAFA while Mr. Ulugbek Karimov highly appreciated the work of developing football, improving infrastructure and holding international competitions in Uzbekistan. Moreover, the parties discussed about holding a number of CAFA tournaments, development seminars and workshops as well as further measures and prospects of holding CAFA Senior National teams tournament.
