The CAFA Women’s Futsal Championship 2025 concluded successfully, with Iran’s women’s team once again proving their dominance by securing their fourth consecutive title. As an absolute powerhouse of women’s futsal in the region, Iran continues to set the benchmark for excellence in the sport.
Tournament Overview
The 4th edition of the championship took place in the beautiful capital city of Tajikistan, Dushanbe, from 9 to 16 February 2025. The matches were hosted at the Dushanbe Indoor Hall, bringing together some of the most talented women’s futsal teams in Central Asia. The tournament featured participation from five nations:
- IR Iran
- Kyrgyz Republic
- Turkmenistan
- Uzbekistan
- Tajikistan
Competition Format and Highlights
The championship followed a round-robin format, with each team playing against all other participants. A total of 10 matches were played, and the tournament showcased performances with an impressive 68 goals scored—three more than in the previous edition.
The primary goal of the tournament was to continue the development of futsal in the region while promoting women’s sports and fostering international cooperation through the game.
Individual Awards
As part of the tournament’s closing ceremony, several individual awards were presented:
- Best Player & Top Goalscorer – Maral Torkaman (Iran) with 10 goals
- Best Goalkeeper – Malika Eminova (Turkmenistan) for her spectacular saves and outstanding performance
- Fair Play Award – Kyrgyz Republic for their exemplary sportsmanship
