March 15, 2024 — The Central Asian Football Association is thrilled to announce a significant step forward in the integration of technology in football across Central Asia. On March 14-15, 2024, CAFA had the privilege of hosting Mr. Bhaveshan Moorghen the Senior Football Technology Strategy Manager from FIFA’s Football Technology and Innovation Subdivision, at CAFA Office for a landmark event: the VAR Kick-Off Meeting.

This two-day seminar was designed to lay the groundwork for the implementation of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system in CAFA competitions. The comprehensive sessions covered the Implementation Assistance and Approval Programme (IAAP) requirements, setting the stage for a new era of football in the region.

Seminar Highlights:

• In-depth Exploration of IAAP Requirements: From initial planning phases to administrative requirements, the seminar provided an exhaustive look at the steps necessary for VAR implementation.
