For the first time, the Congress of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) due to the global pandemic COVID-19 was held online.

General Secretary of the Central Asian Football Association Ulugbek Karimov made a report on the activities of CAFA since the previous Congress.The Fifth Congress approved the new CAFA Statutes of the Central Asian Football Association, as well as the budget for 2021.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in 2020 CAFA could not conduct any tournament. However, the managment of the Central Asian Football Association expressed hope that next year, after the improvement of the epidemiological situation and the resumption of air traffic between the countries, tournaments under the auspices of CAFA will still take place.
