Third Edition of CAFA Referee Assessors Webinar Successfully Conducted

As part of the Central Asian Football Association’s ongoing commitment to refereeing development and capacity building initiatives, the third edition of the CAFA Referee Assessors Webinar was successfully held today, 29 April 2025, via the Zoom platform.

The webinar was organized with the objective of enhancing the knowledge, skills, and evaluation capacities of referee assessors (RAs) from CAFA’s Member Associations (MAs). Following invitations extended by CAFA, a total of 16 referee assessors participated in this important educational event, reflecting the growing emphasis across the region on refereeing excellence and consistency.

The programme focused on key and highly relevant topics:

  • Challenges and incidents in the penalty area
  • Handball situations and tactical fouls
  • Referee Assessor reporting procedures
  • Evaluation of offside decisions

The main instructor for the webinar was Mr. Vladislav Tseytlin, one of the most respected and experienced referee instructors and assessors in the region. Under his guidance, the session featured interactive discussions, detailed incident reviews, and practical insights into the complex decision-making processes referees face during matches. Participants actively engaged in analyzing  match situations, strengthening their observational and analytical skills vital for high-level assessments.

The webinar officially commenced with opening remarks from Mr. Ravshan Irmatov, Chairman of the CAFA Referees Committee and a globally recognized figure in football refereeing. Mr. Irmatov emphasized the critical importance of referee assessors in the modern game, highlighting their role not only in evaluating performances but also in mentoring referees, guiding their growth, and ensuring that they remain updated with the latest interpretations and practices.

In his address, Mr. Irmatov underlined:

«Referee assessors play a crucial role in shaping the future of refereeing in our region. Through guidance, detailed evaluations, and constructive feedback, they provide essential support that strengthens the standard of officiating at all levels.»

The third edition of the CAFA Referee Assessors Webinar marks another successful step in CAFA’s refereeing development pathway, reaffirming its commitment to continuous education, knowledge sharing, and excellence across the Central Asian football community.
